Medical Manager Health Systems was a pioneering provider of healthcare information technology, primarily known for its flagship practice management and electronic health record (EHR) software, The Medical Manager. Founded in the early 1980s, the company became a dominant force in the physician office market, facilitating administrative, financial, and clinical workflows for tens of thousands of providers across the United States. In 2000, the company merged with WebMD in a high-profile multi-billion dollar transaction intended to integrate traditional physician practices with emerging internet-based healthcare services. Following several corporate restructurings, its legacy technology and customer base were eventually divested to the Sage Group and later integrated into Greenway Health.
