Medical Quality Commission

The Medical Quality Commission (TMQC) was a non-profit healthcare organization based in Seal Beach, California, that specialized in the accreditation of medical groups and independent practice associations (IPAs). Founded in the early 1990s, the commission played a significant role in the California managed care landscape by evaluating the quality of care and organizational performance of physician groups. It conducted extensive outcomes research, including the Physician Value Check Survey, and provided educational programs for healthcare providers. TMQC ceased operations in March 1998 due to a decline in funding and a lack of growth in demand for its specific accreditation services.
