Company intelligence / Profile preview
Medical Tactile, Inc. (MTI) is a medical technology company that developed the SureTouch Visual Mapping System, an FDA-cleared tactile imaging device for breast cancer screening. Founded by Dr. Jae Son as a spin-off from Pressure Profile Systems, the company utilized proprietary capacitive pressure sensor technology to create digital maps of breast tissue, offering a radiation-free and painless alternative to traditional palpation and mammography. The technology, which can detect lesions as small as 5 mm by measuring tissue elasticity (stress elastography), was acquired in 2017 by Sure, Inc. and is currently marketed under the brand name Bexa. The system is designed to improve the sensitivity and objectivity of clinical breast exams, particularly in underserved regions or for women with dense breast tissue.
