Medicenna Therapeutics is a clinical-stage immunotherapy company focused on the development of novel, highly selective versions of powerful naturally occurring proteins called cytokines. The company's proprietary Superkine platform allows for the engineering of recombinant cytokines, such as Interleukin-2 (IL-2), IL-4, and IL-13, to enhance their therapeutic potential while minimizing off-target side effects. Their lead program, MDNA55, is a first-in-class IL-4 empowered toxin that has completed Phase 2b clinical trials for recurrent glioblastoma and has received Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations from the FDA. Additionally, Medicenna is advancing MDNA11, a next-generation IL-2 Superkine designed to selectively activate cancer-fighting immune cells without the toxicities associated with native IL-2.
