Medicines Discovery Catapult

Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC) is the UK’s national centre for medicine research innovation. It operates as an independent not-for-profit company supporting drug discovery through advanced technologies and expertise. MDC enables biotech SMEs and innovators to progress assets from early-stage research toward clinical development by providing access to state-of-the-art labs in biomarkers, cellular sciences, translational imaging and data science. The organization focuses on de-risking new technologies and making companies “fit to fund,” catalyzing over £1bn in investment into UK life sciences since inception. It does not develop its own therapeutics but accelerates external R&D through partnerships across academia, biotech/pharma industry and government.
