Medicis Pharmaceutical, operating through entities such as Medicis Aesthetics Holdings, was a prominent specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the dermatology and medical aesthetics markets. The company was widely recognized for its market-leading aesthetic portfolio, which included the Restylane family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and the neuromodulator Dysport. In addition to its aesthetic products, Medicis maintained a strong presence in medical dermatology with branded treatments for acne and other skin conditions, such as Solodyn and Ziana.
