Company intelligence / Profile preview
Medicity was a leading provider of health information exchange (HIE) and clinical interoperability solutions designed to enable hospitals, physician practices, and health systems to share patient data securely and in real-time. The company's technology platform, including its iNexx and Grid solutions, facilitated the flow of clinical information across disparate healthcare environments to improve care coordination and patient safety. By providing a robust infrastructure for data exchange, Medicity supported population health management and clinical integration initiatives for major healthcare organizations. The company was acquired by Aetna in 2011 for approximately $500 million and was later integrated into CVS Health following the Aetna-CVS merger. In 2018, CVS Health announced the wind-down of the Medicity business as part of a strategic shift in its health information technology portfolio.
