Medipacs was a medical device company that developed a novel, disposable infusion pump platform for the delivery of liquid medications. The company's core innovation, the Medipump, utilized a proprietary electro-active polymer (EAP) actuator that functioned as an "artificial muscle" to drive fluid delivery. This technology eliminated the need for traditional motors, gears, and complex electronics, resulting in a miniaturized, wearable, and low-cost device. Medipacs primarily targeted applications in insulin delivery for diabetes and patient-controlled analgesia for chronic and post-operative pain.
