Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Mediplex Group was a leading healthcare services provider that specialized in subacute care, rehabilitation, and long-term care facilities. Founded in the early 1980s and based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, the company pioneered the subacute care niche, offering specialized medical services for patients requiring more intensive care than traditional nursing homes but less than full hospitalization. Mediplex operated a diverse network of facilities, including nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals, and treatment centers for alcohol and drug addiction across the United States. The company was publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange before being acquired by Sun Healthcare Group in 1994. Following the acquisition, the founders established the Mediplex Property Group, which continues to operate as a healthcare real estate development firm.
