Company intelligence / Profile preview
Medis Technologies Ltd. was a development-stage company that initially focused on medical diagnostics before pivoting to energy solutions. Its primary healthcare technology was the Cell-Scan, a highly sensitive automated scanning cytometer designed for the early detection of cancer and monitoring of immune system responses. The system analyzed the physiological changes in living cells, specifically the Intensity of Fluorescent Polarization (IFP), to identify malignant cells or immune reactions. Despite early promise in oncology and infectious disease diagnostics, the company shifted its focus to direct liquid fuel cell (DLFC) technology in the early 2000s and eventually ceased operations following bankruptcy in 2009.
