MediSure

MediSure is a Canadian medical device company focused on affordable at-home and pharmacy-channel diagnostic products, best known for blood glucose meters and glucose test strips for diabetes management. The company was founded in 2010 and built distribution across thousands of Canadian pharmacies before being acquired by Empower Clinics in July 2021. Following the acquisition, MediSure continued operating as a wholly owned subsidiary/business unit, obtained a Health Canada Medical Device Establishment License, and expanded into additional rapid test categories including a vitamin D home test. Its business is centered on sourcing, manufacturing, distributing, and commercializing lower-cost consumer and point-of-care health monitoring products rather than developing therapeutic drug assets.
