Company intelligence / Profile preview
MedPlast was a medical device outsourcing company that provided design, development, manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and sterilization services for medical device OEMs. The company was formed in 2008 through the merger of ATP Engineered Rubber & Plastics and K&W Medical Specialties, and it built capabilities in plastics, silicone, metals, extrusion, tooling, and complex device assembly. In 2016, MedPlast was acquired by Water Street Healthcare Partners and JLL Partners. After completing its acquisition of Integer Holding Corporation’s Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics business, MedPlast rebranded as Viant on July 9, 2018. The legacy MedPlast business is therefore best understood today as the predecessor brand of Viant, a large medtech CDMO serving OEMs across orthopedic, surgical, diagnostic, drug delivery, and related markets.
