MedQuest Products was a medical technology company focused on the development of advanced mechanical circulatory support systems for patients with end-stage congestive heart failure. The company's primary innovation was the HeartQuest Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), a continuous-flow centrifugal blood pump designed to provide long-term support with improved hemocompatibility and reliability. MedQuest was acquired by World Heart Corporation in 2005 for approximately $25 million to integrate its centrifugal pump technology into WorldHeart's next-generation product pipeline. The technology eventually became part of the broader mechanical circulatory support market through subsequent acquisitions by HeartWare and Medtronic.
