MedSource Technologies was a leading provider of engineering and manufacturing services to the medical device industry, specializing in components for minimally invasive surgery. The company offered a wide range of capabilities, including precision machining, metal forming, and assembly for the cardiovascular, orthopedic, and endoscopy markets. Formed in 1999 through the merger of several specialized manufacturers, MedSource became a key player in the medical outsourcing sector. It operated as a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ under the symbol MEDT following its IPO in 2002. In 2004, MedSource was acquired by Accellent for approximately $230 million, creating one of the largest medical device contract manufacturing organizations at the time. The company's legacy continues through its integration into what is now Integer Holdings.
