MedTrakRx, officially known as MedTrak Services, is a pharmacy benefit management (PBM) company that specializes in providing tailored prescription drug benefit solutions for small to mid-sized employers. The company emphasizes a high-touch service model, focusing on clinical management and cost-containment strategies to help clients manage rising pharmacy expenditures. Originally founded in 1999 and based in Overland Park, Kansas, the firm was acquired by EnvisionRx (a subsidiary of Rite Aid) in 2014 for approximately $215 million. Following Rite Aid's 2023 bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring, the Elixir PBM business, which included MedTrakRx assets, was sold to MedImpact Healthcare Systems in early 2024. Today, it operates as part of the broader MedImpact portfolio, continuing to serve its niche market of self-insured employers.
