MedVirginia was a U.S. healthcare information technology company best known for operating a health information exchange and, under the Clareto brand, providing electronic health record retrieval and related data services to the life insurance industry. The company built infrastructure to aggregate hospital, physician, laboratory, and pharmacy data into a unified electronic chart and to facilitate HIPAA-compliant exchange of health information. Its commercial offerings included record retrieval, digital data repository, claims adjudication, post-issue audit, and underwriting support services. MedVirginia later operated primarily as Clareto, was acquired by Munich Re in 2022, and the Clareto business was subsequently acquired by MIB Group in 2025.
