MEI Pharma’s two main clinical-stage assets are voruciclib and ME-344. Voruciclib, an oral CDK9 inhibitor, has shown anti-leukemic activity in heavily pretreated AML patients when combined with venetoclax; no dose-limiting toxicities or overlapping toxicity observed to date. Expansion cohorts are enrolling and a Phase 3 registration trial could begin in late 2026 if data remain positive. ME-344, a mitochondrial OXPHOS inhibitor, demonstrated biological activity in combination with bevacizumab in solid tumors such as HER2-negative breast cancer and metastatic colorectal cancer. A new formulation of ME-344 is being developed to improve efficacy and patient convenience.
