Meniere’s Research Institute

The Meniere's Research Institute (MRI) was a specialized research organization dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of Meniere's disease and related vestibular disorders. Founded by Dr. I. Kaufman Arenberg, the institute was instrumental in developing and refining surgical techniques such as endolymphatic sac decompression and the use of inner ear valves. It also played a key role in the clinical validation of the Meniett device, a non-invasive pressure pulse generator used to manage vertigo symptoms. The institute operated in close affiliation with the Prosper Meniere Society, hosting international symposia that set clinical standards for electrocochleography and other diagnostic tools. Although the institute is no longer active as a standalone entity, its research contributions continue to influence the management of endolymphatic hydrops globally.
