Company intelligence / Profile preview
MeRaD Pharmaceutical was a Cambridge-based biotechnology company focused on the development of novel anti-infective products to treat drug-resistant bacterial infections. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Rajinder Kumar, a former executive at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and GSK, the company leveraged extensive industry expertise to advance early-stage pharmaceutical candidates. In addition to its anti-infective focus, MeRaD held intellectual property for ergoline derivatives targeting central nervous system disorders and collaborated on cardiovascular research, including CETP inhibitors. The company operated in close association with Vitas Pharma, an Indian anti-infective discovery firm also founded by Dr. Kumar. MeRaD Pharmaceutical was officially dissolved in August 2024.
