Merrion Group

Merrion Pharmaceuticals was an Irish specialty pharmaceutical and drug delivery company focused on converting injectable or poorly absorbed drugs into oral tablet or capsule formulations. Its core asset was the proprietary GIPET oral absorption-enhancement platform, which was used to improve gastrointestinal uptake of compounds that typically have low oral bioavailability. The company worked both on internal product development and on partnered programs with pharmaceutical companies using its delivery technology. Merrion was publicly listed in Dublin and pursued collaborations including work with Novo Nordisk and Hovione. Following the sale of intellectual property assets to Novo Nordisk in 2015, the company moved into liquidation in 2016 and is no longer an active operating biotech/pharma company.
