Company intelligence / Profile preview
Metrosignature was a molecular diagnostics company focused on the development of gene expression profile (GEP) tests for thoracic cancers. The company's primary asset was a 15-gene signature, often referred to as the Metro Signature, designed to accurately diagnose malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) and distinguish it from other lung cancers like adenocarcinoma. This technology was developed based on research from Brigham and Women's Hospital to address the clinical challenge of mesothelioma diagnosis and prognosis. In July 2009, Metrosignature was acquired by Castle Biosciences, which subsequently integrated the technology into its diagnostic portfolio as DecisionDx-Mesothelioma.
