Micap was a United Kingdom-based biotechnology company that specialized in the development of microencapsulation technology using yeast cells (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). The company's proprietary platform utilized the natural structure of yeast cell walls to encapsulate and protect active ingredients, such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and flavors, for controlled release and improved stability. While Micap was once listed on the London Stock Exchange's AIM market, it faced financial challenges and its intellectual property was eventually acquired by Eden Research plc.
