MiCardia has developed a unique implantable device platform that allows intra-operative and post-operative adjustment of the mitral valve annulus to treat mitral regurgitation. The first successful human implants were reported in 2008–2009. The system enables surgical, percutaneous, and non-invasive activation to adjust cardiac anatomy dynamically after implantation.
