Michigan Health Information Network

Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN) is a non-profit organization and Michigan's state-designated entity for health information exchange (HIE). It functions as a "network of networks," providing the digital infrastructure required to securely share electronic health information among providers, health plans, and state agencies. MiHIN's core services include the routing of Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) notifications, clinical document exchange, and the management of a statewide health provider directory. By standardizing data exchange, the organization facilitates better care coordination, supports population health initiatives, and reduces administrative burdens for healthcare stakeholders. MiHIN also operates through its subsidiary, Velatura, to extend its interoperability solutions and consulting services to other states and regions.
