Michigan Tech Enterprise

Michigan Tech Enterprise Corporation, commonly known as MTEC SmartZone, is a non-profit high-tech business incubator and accelerator based in Houghton, Michigan. Established in 2003, the organization is a partnership between the City of Houghton, the City of Hancock, and Michigan Technological University, with support from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). MTEC's mission is to accelerate the growth of technology-based businesses and foster a prosperous regional economy in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It provides a range of services to entrepreneurs and startups, including business mentoring, technical assistance, and access to specialized laboratory and manufacturing facilities. The corporation has a strong focus on the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, supporting the commercialization of university research and the development of healthcare technologies.
