Micronet Medical

Micronet Medical was a medical device company based in St. Paul, Minnesota, that specialized in the development of proprietary micro-lead technology for neurostimulation. The company's flagship product line, the Axxess spinal cord stimulation (SCS) leads, were recognized as the smallest neurostimulation leads on the market, offering superior maneuverability and placement accuracy for clinicians. In November 2002, the company was acquired by Advanced Neuromodulation Systems (ANS) for approximately $5.7 million in cash and stock, plus potential performance-based milestones. The acquisition allowed ANS to integrate Micronet's thin, steerable lead technology into its existing neurostimulation platforms, which were subsequently absorbed into St. Jude Medical and later Abbott Laboratories.
