Midwest Heart Specialists was a premier cardiovascular medical group based in the Chicago metropolitan area, recognized as one of the largest independent cardiology practices in the United States prior to its acquisition. The organization provided a full spectrum of heart care services, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and nuclear imaging, across multiple locations in Illinois. Beyond clinical practice, the group was heavily involved in cardiovascular research and clinical trials through its dedicated research foundation, contributing to the development of numerous cardiac drugs and devices. In 2011, the group was acquired by Advocate Health Care and now operates as a core component of the Advocate Heart Institute. The integration allowed for a more unified approach to cardiac population health management across the Advocate system.
