Millenium Biologix Technologies was a Canadian biotechnology company focused on the development of advanced skeletal tissue regeneration products. The company is best known for its proprietary Skelite technology, a synthetic bone graft substitute that mimics the chemical and structural properties of natural bone. Skelite is unique because it is resorbed by the body's osteoclasts at a rate that matches the formation of new natural bone, making it highly effective for orthopedic and spinal applications. In 2007, the company was acquired by Medtronic for approximately $27 million to enhance Medtronic's biologics and spinal surgery offerings. The company's research and manufacturing were primarily based in Kingston, Ontario, and it was originally a spin-off from Queen's University.
