Millennium Biologics

Millennium Biologics was a Canadian biotechnology company specializing in the development of advanced biomaterials for bone repair and regeneration. The company's core technology, Skelite, is a silicon-stabilized calcium phosphate synthetic bone graft substitute designed to mimic the composition and structure of natural bone. Skelite's unique properties allow it to be resorbed by osteoclasts and replaced by natural bone during the remodeling process. The company's products were primarily used in orthopedic and spinal surgeries to treat bone defects. Millennium Biologics was acquired by Interpore International in 2004, which was subsequently acquired by Biomet (now Zimmer Biomet).
