Miller-Keystone Blood Center

Miller-Keystone Blood Center (MKBC) is an independent, community-based, non-profit blood center that serves as the primary supplier of blood products to numerous hospitals in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Founded in 1948, the organization manages the collection, processing, and distribution of whole blood, platelets, plasma, and other specialized blood components. MKBC operates several fixed donor centers and a fleet of mobile collection units to maintain a stable and safe blood supply for regional trauma centers, surgical suites, and oncology departments. In addition to blood collection, the center provides comprehensive transfusion-related clinical services, including reference laboratory testing and specialized component preparation. The organization is a member of America's Blood Centers and is accredited by the AABB, ensuring high standards of safety and quality in its operations.
