Company intelligence / Profile preview
Minnesota Crop Improvement Association is a Minnesota-based independent third-party certification and quality-assurance organization serving agricultural producers, processors, and distributors. It is the State of Minnesota’s official seed certifying agency and also provides organic certification, foundation seed services, seed laboratory testing, field inspections, identity-preserved grain verification, and related audit services. The organization produces and distributes foundation seed of publicly developed crop varieties and acts as the marketing agent for licensing varieties developed at the University of Minnesota. MCIA operates as a 501(c)(5) not-for-profit association and has served the Upper Midwest for more than a century. Although it works in life sciences broadly through agriculture and seed quality, it is not a biotech, pharma, or healthcare therapeutics company.
