Minority AIDS Project

Minority AIDS Project (MAP) is a community-based non-profit organization located in Los Angeles, California, dedicated to providing HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services to people of color. Founded in 1985 by Reverend Carl Bean, it was the first community-based HIV/AIDS organization established and managed by people of color in the United States. MAP offers a range of services including HIV testing, case management, mental health counseling, and support groups. The organization focuses on addressing the disproportionate impact of the epidemic on African American and Latino communities through culturally competent outreach and education.
