Overview
ModaCAD was a pioneer in 3D visualization and rendering software, originally founded to serve the apparel and textile industries. In the late 1990s, the company expanded into the healthcare sector through its ModaMedical division, applying its proprietary 3D technology to medical imaging applications such as surgical planning and diagnostic visualization. The company's technology allowed for the conversion of 2D medical scans (MRI/CT) into interactive 3D models, providing clinicians with enhanced spatial understanding for complex procedures. ModaCAD eventually transitioned its focus toward e-commerce and rich media, rebranding as Scene7 before being acquired by Adobe.
