Molecular Discovery Systems

Molecular Discovery Systems (MDS) was an Australian biotechnology company that served as the research and development arm of Allied Healthcare Group (later renamed Admedus and currently operating as Anteris Technologies). The company was established to commercialize a proprietary DNA vaccine platform based on codon optimization technology developed by Professor Ian Frazer, the co-inventor of the Gardasil HPV vaccine. MDS focused on developing therapeutic vaccines for chronic viral infections, with its lead programs targeting Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (HSV-2) and Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Following a strategic pivot by its parent company toward structural heart disease and medical devices, the vaccine assets associated with Molecular Discovery Systems were divested or discontinued.
