Company intelligence / Profile preview
Molecular Medicine Bioservices (MMB) is a contract manufacturing organization (CMO) that specializes in the production of viral vectors and other biologics for gene therapy and vaccine development. Founded in 1997 and based in Carlsbad, California, the company provides a range of services including process development, clinical-stage manufacturing, and commercial-scale production. MMB was a pioneer in the field, operating one of the first facilities to receive regulatory approval for the commercial manufacture of viral vector products. In 2007, the company was acquired by Sigma-Aldrich to become part of its SAFC Pharma division, significantly expanding its capabilities in the high-growth gene therapy market. Today, the legacy MMB operations continue as a critical component of MilliporeSigma's viral vector manufacturing network under Merck KGaA.
