Molecular Medicine Ireland

Molecular Medicine Ireland (MMI) was a collaborative research partnership established to accelerate the translation of biomedical research into improved diagnostics and therapies for patients. Founded in 2002 and formally incorporated in 2008, the organization was a joint venture between five major Irish universities: NUI Galway, RCSI, Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, and University College Dublin. MMI focused on developing shared clinical research infrastructure, including the Irish Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ICRIN), and providing specialized education and training programs for clinician-scientists. The entity served as a central hub for coordinating large-scale research initiatives and biobanking standards across Ireland. In 2017, MMI was rebranded as Clinical Research Development Ireland (CRDI) before the partnership eventually concluded its operations.
