Molecular Mining Corporation was a bioinformatics company specializing in advanced pattern discovery and data mining for the life sciences. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Kingston, Ontario, the company developed proprietary algorithms to analyze complex, high-dimensional biological data such as gene expression and proteomic profiles. Its technology was primarily used to identify novel biomarkers, drug targets, and patient stratification strategies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners. The company established significant collaborations with major industry players, including Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline, to enhance their drug discovery and development pipelines. In June 2004, Bio-Rad Laboratories acquired the assets of Molecular Mining Corporation to integrate its sophisticated informatics tools into Bio-Rad's life science research and diagnostic product lines.
