Company intelligence / Profile preview
MondoGEN refers to two historical biotechnology entities: mondoGEN AG, a Swiss biotech company, and MondoGen GmbH, a German gene therapy company. The Swiss mondoGEN AG was a subsidiary of mondoBIOTECH AG focused on repurposing drugs for orphan diseases, most notably developing aviptadil (a synthetic vasoactive intestinal peptide) for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and sarcoidosis before being combined into mondoBIOTECH holding AG (later Relief Therapeutics). The German MondoGen GmbH was a 1998 spin-off from the Max Planck Society located in Martinsried that developed gene therapies for liver diseases until its acquisition by HepaVec AG in 1998/1999.
