Monmouth Ocean Hospital Service

Monmouth Ocean Hospital Service Corporation, widely known as MONOC, was a non-profit healthcare consortium that provided emergency medical services (EMS) and mobile intensive care units (MICU) throughout New Jersey. Established in 1978, the organization functioned as a cooperative effort among several major hospital systems to centralize advanced life support, medical dispatch, and air medical transport. At its height, MONOC was one of the largest EMS providers in the United States, serving millions of residents across multiple counties. The corporation officially ceased all operations in April 2020, with its services and personnel being integrated into the internal EMS departments of its member hospital systems, such as RWJBarnabas Health and Hackensack Meridian Health.
