Mosa Meat pioneered the world’s first cultured beef burger in 2013 and has since developed scalable processes to produce real beef directly from cow cells without animal slaughter. The company has removed all animal components from its process, including fetal bovine serum, making its products more ethical and sustainable. It focuses on bringing down costs through innovations like serum-free media and aims to enter markets starting with Europe and Singapore upon regulatory approval. As of early/mid 2025, it remains pre-commercial but has filed for market authorization of its cultivated fat ingredient—the first such submission in the EU.
