Company intelligence / Profile preview
Moskhimfarmpreparaty (officially AO Moscow Production Chemical-Pharmaceutical Association named after N.A. Semashko) is Russia's oldest pharmaceutical company, founded in 1882 by merchant Robert Köhler. Historically, the company was a major domestic manufacturer of over 100 pharmaceutical products, including essential medicines like the immunosuppressant azathioprine, salbutamol, and allochol. Following severe financial distress and a bankruptcy filing in 2017, the company's shares were transferred to the state corporation Rostec. In December 2024, the company successfully terminated its bankruptcy proceedings through a court-approved settlement agreement. Today, while its direct manufacturing operations have been largely restructured or spun off into entities like AO MKhFP and AO KhFZ im. N.A. Semashko, the company remains active as a legal entity managing its real estate and historical assets.
