Motif Neurotech has developed the DOT microstimulator, a miniature, wireless, battery-free brain implant designed to stimulate the prefrontal cortex for treatment-resistant depression. The device has completed first-in-human proof-of-concept implantation and large animal studies demonstrating safety and ability to deliver targeted neurostimulation. Clinical trials of chronic implants are planned for 2025[6][8].
