Motion Computing was a prominent provider of rugged mobile computing solutions, specifically recognized for its leadership in the healthcare sector. Founded in 2001 and based in Austin, Texas, the company developed specialized tablet PCs like the C5 and F5 series that were tailored for clinical environments with features such as antimicrobial surfaces and integrated data capture tools. These devices were designed to improve workflow efficiency by allowing healthcare providers to access and update electronic health records at the point of care. In April 2015, the company's assets were acquired by Xplore Technologies for approximately $9 million. Following Xplore's acquisition by Zebra Technologies in 2018, the Motion Computing product line was integrated into Zebra's broader portfolio of enterprise mobile devices.
