MPP Generic Partners

The Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) is a United Nations-backed public health organization focused on increasing access to, and facilitating the development of, life-saving medicines for low- and middle-income countries. Through its innovative business model, MPP partners with civil society, governments, international organizations, industry, and patient groups to prioritize, forecast, and license needed medicines and pool intellectual property. The organization works extensively with generic manufacturing partners to encourage the production of affordable, high-quality generic versions of patented medicines, particularly for HIV, hepatitis C, tuberculosis, and more recently, COVID-19 and non-communicable diseases.
