Company intelligence / Profile preview
MSP Singapore Company, LLC was a strategic pharmaceutical joint venture formed in 2000 between Merck & Co. and Schering-Plough Corporation to develop and market cholesterol-lowering medications. The partnership was responsible for the commercialization of the blockbuster drugs Zetia (ezetimibe) and Vytorin (ezetimibe/simvastatin), which targeted both the absorption and production of cholesterol. Headquartered in Singapore to utilize the country's biomedical hub, the entity operated as a key vehicle for the companies' cardiovascular franchise. Following Merck's acquisition of Schering-Plough in 2009, the joint venture was integrated into Merck's global operations (known as MSD outside the U.S.). The company is frequently cited in industry literature regarding the 'ENHANCE' clinical trial and subsequent legal settlements concerning the disclosure of trial data.
