Mucosal Vaccine Technologies (MVT) was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development of needle-free, intranasal vaccines using a proprietary adenoviral vector platform. The company's technology, now known as RespirVec, was designed to stimulate both mucosal and systemic immune responses, offering a potentially superior defense against respiratory pathogens compared to traditional intramuscular injections. MVT's pipeline featured candidates for seasonal influenza and anthrax, emphasizing ease of administration and rapid onset of protection. In 2015, MVT was acquired by Vaxin Inc., which subsequently rebranded as Altimmune.
