Multimedia Medical Systems (MMS) was a healthcare technology firm specializing in medical imaging and clinical data management. The company developed advanced Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) designed to integrate diagnostic images with electronic medical records. Its software solutions focused on improving the efficiency of radiologists and clinicians by providing high-speed access to multi-modality medical images. MMS played a significant role in the early digitization of radiology workflows. In 1998, the company was acquired by IDX Systems Corporation, where its technology became the foundation for the ImageCast product line. Following GE Healthcare's acquisition of IDX in 2006, MMS's innovations were fully integrated into GE's global clinical imaging portfolio.
