Mundogen, originally founded as Mundogen, LLC and later known as PapGene and Thrive Earlier Detection, was a pioneering biotechnology company focused on the early detection of cancer through liquid biopsy technology. Established by world-renowned geneticists from Johns Hopkins University, the company developed the CancerSEEK platform, a blood-based test designed to identify multiple cancer types by analyzing circulating tumor DNA and specific protein biomarkers. The company's mission was to transform oncology by shifting diagnosis to earlier, more treatable stages before symptoms appear. In 2021, the company was acquired by Exact Sciences for approximately $2.15 billion to integrate its multi-cancer early detection (MCED) capabilities into a leading global diagnostics portfolio.
