Murray Goulburn Co-operative Co. Limited was formerly Australia's largest dairy food company, primarily recognized for its consumer brand Devondale. While its core business was dairy production, the company maintained a significant presence in the life sciences sector through its MG Nutritionals division, which focused on the extraction of bioactive milk components. This division produced high-value ingredients such as lactoferrin, whey protein isolates, and milk-derived fractions used in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and infant formula applications. Following a period of financial volatility, the company's operating assets were acquired by the Canadian dairy major Saputo Inc. in 2018. Today, its legacy continues through the specialized nutritional ingredients manufactured at its former processing facilities.
