MuseCell Innovations is a Japanese biotechnology company dedicated to the development and commercialization of Multilineage-differentiating Stress-Enduring (Muse) cell-based therapies. Muse cells are a unique type of endogenous, non-tumorigenic pluripotent stem cell found in various tissues that can be administered intravenously to home in on damaged sites and differentiate into functional cells. The company was established in 2023 to advance the clinical pipeline previously managed by the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, focusing on regenerative medicine for acute and chronic conditions. Its primary goal is to provide off-the-shelf regenerative treatments for indications such as myocardial infarction, stroke, and rare genetic disorders. The technology leverages the natural homing mechanism of Muse cells to Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) released by damaged cells, allowing for targeted repair without the need for complex surgical delivery. MuseCell Innovations is currently progressing several programs through mid-to-late-stage clinical trials, positioning itself as a leader in endogenous stem cell therapy.
